How to Do the Babydoll Dance (Step by Step, or With One Photo)
Every move of the Babydoll routine, counted out. Plus the shortcut for two left feet: one photo, and the AI does the dancing.
Last updated: 2026-10-25
To do the Babydoll dance, you chug forward with a bounce, step to the side and together, do a ball change, then hit the big second half: little kicks, a spin, a shoulder shimmy with a point at the camera, the "superstar jump" with both arms up, rockstar arm swings and a linked-arm bounce, all to the chorus of Jamie Miller's "Babydoll". It's danced in a row of two or three people facing the camera. If you'd rather skip rehearsal, you need one photo: upload it, pick 6, 10 or 15 seconds, and the AI makes a video of the second half of the routine (the part from the kicks to the linked-arm bounce), usually in about 5 to 15 minutes depending on the length.
Part 1: The First Half (Chugs, Side Steps, Ball Change)
Dance teacher Xito Rico (@xitorico), who says he helped Jamie Miller make the "Baby Doll challenge", counts the routine like this in his TikTok tutorial: chug for eight, step to the side and together, ball change, "90s groove", "superstar jump", "rockstar". The first half goes like this:
- Chug for eight. Chug forward with a bounce, arms swinging low.
- Side step and together. Step out to the side, then bring the other foot in.
- Ball change. A quick weight shift from the ball of one foot to the other.
Then comes what he calls the "90s groove", and the routine builds into the "superstar jump" and the "rockstar" arms in Part 2. Along the way you'll see step-touches, arm circles and a shoulder shimmy, the moves Know Your Meme lists for the dance.
Part 2: The Six Big Moves
This is the second half of the routine, the part our AI video copies from @gracebettyharmer's take. Times are approximate, counted in our 15-second video.
- Kick and step out wide (about 0–2.5 s): little kicks forward, then a wide stance with your arms open.
- Spin around once (about 2.5–4 s): one full turn on the spot.
- Shimmy and point (about 4–5.5 s): shake your shoulders, then point at the camera.
- The superstar jump (about 5.5–7 s): jump with both arms straight up over your head.
- Wide arms, then rockstar (about 7–13.5 s): arms out wide and sway, then big rock-star arm swings.
- Link arms and bounce (about 13.5–15 s): hook arms with the people next to you and bounce side to side to finish.
Doing it for real? Line up two or three of you, keep the camera still, face it and smile. That's the whole look.
How to Make a Babydoll Dance AI Video From One Photo
No friends available, no lane nearby, no intention of ever doing a spin in public? Fair. Here's the shortcut on the generator:
- Upload one photo. Sign in with Google (free), then upload a JPG, PNG or WebP of one person or one pet, whole body or at least down to the waist. Anyone in it must be you, your pet or someone who agreed, 18 or older and not a celebrity or public figure.
- Pick a length. 6 seconds (6 credits) is the superstar jump, the wide arms and the first arm swings. 10 seconds (13 credits) starts at the shimmy and point and ends with the linked-arm bounce. 15 seconds (20 credits) is all six moves, from the kicks to the finish. Credit packs start at $9.90 for 20 credits; there are no free credits.
- Wait, then download or share. Expect about 5 minutes for 6 s, about 9 minutes for 10 s and about 15 minutes for 15 s (it can take longer when it's busy). You can leave the page; the video keeps rendering and shows up when you come back. Then download the MP4 or tap "Share to TikTok". It's also saved in your account history.
You get a vertical 9:16 MP4 in 720p, no watermark, with Jamie Miller's "Babydoll" on it, lined up with the moves.
Photo Tips for the Best Result
- One dancer per photo. One person or one pet. The video is built for one dancer in the middle.
- Show the body. Whole body, or at least down to the waist, works best.
- Face the camera. Sharp, in good light.
- No sunglasses, no heavy filters. Let the AI see who you are.
- Wear the outfit you want to dance in. You keep your own clothes from the photo.
- Ignore the background. It isn't used; you'll dance on the country lane either way.

- Babydoll Dance. One photo, copies one real take of the routine move by move, comes with the song, from $9.90.
How to Post Your Babydoll Dance Video
- The video is already vertical 9:16, so it fits TikTok, Reels and Shorts without cropping.

- Use the trend's hashtags: #babydoll #babydolldance #dancetrend.
- Turn on TikTok's AI-generated label before you post. It's an AI video, and saying so keeps everyone honest.
How to Do the Babydoll Dance: FAQ
What's the "superstar jump"?
It's Xito Rico's name for the jump with both arms straight up over your head. In our 15-second video it comes at about 5.5–7 seconds, and the 6-second video starts with it.
What song do I need for the Babydoll dance?
"Babydoll" by Jamie Miller, released on August 7, 2026. The dance is done to the chorus. Our AI videos come with that part of the song already on them. The full backstory is in what the Babydoll dance trend is.
Can I make the video with a group photo?
It's built for one dancer. If your photo has two people, the AI may put the second one in place of the dancer on the left, but results vary. One person or one pet works best.
How long does it take to make the AI video?
About 5 minutes for 6 seconds, about 9 minutes for 10 seconds and about 15 minutes for 15 seconds. These are estimates, and it can take longer when it's busy.
